Currently, 8.3% of all pools control 50% of the total staked ADA. The consolidation of stake in the hands of fewer and fewer large pools is increasing the inequality of wealth in Cardano stake pools.

Since epoch 257 an average of 26 groups is responsible for producing 50% of Cardano blocks. This is quite a low number: Cardano is losing decentralisation to the advantage of few, large groups.

These analyses were conducted independently and cover epochs 209 through to 539, spanning a total of 6,939,060 blocks. The results indicate that Cardano is losing diversity of participating Pools.
